Established in 1993, VINI VINI is a family-owned business focused on exporting several types of fish caught in French Polynesia in collaboration with its strategic partner Essential Ocean Foods INC.
Building on over 20 years in the industry, VINI VINI has become one of the top fish purveyors in French Polynesia, amplified by the European certification PF1029 which is secured annually.
All fish exported by VINI VINI is wild caught in the open sea using longline fishing. This process, which insures quality and freshness, is very selective; we only target mature species that already reproduced and don’t harm marine habitats.
VINI VINI has obtained the MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) eco-label in 2018, thus guaranteeing the sustainable, wild and traceable nature of its fishing in the French EEZ of the South Pacific of 5,5 million km²(2,1 million square miles) which is the world largest managed marine area.
On returning from short fishing season, the fish are unloaded in the early morning and instantly processed in the production workshops adjoining the unloading dock, in order to obtain loins, thus respecting a short processing tour.
An internal quality department working in close collaboration with the Health Department has the mission to follow each stage of the process in order to ensure, everyday, the traceability and freshness of the product (cold chain).
Tahitian Tombo Tuna is one of the noblest variety of tuna, whose pinky meat, especially in French Polynesia, promises a light yet rich delicious flavor and whose texture is uniquely pleasant, making it a favorite and staple of the Tahitian diet.
Do not miss Tahiti’s national signature dish, the "Poisson Cru" which mean "Raw Fish" in French. This delicious melt in mouth dish consists of raw tuna fish marinated in lime juice and coconut milk, mixed with diced vegetables like carrot, cucumber, green onion or tomato.
